CORE VALUES

Prayerfully Dependent

In humble dependence upon the Lord, we commit ourselves to prayer. We, therefore, encourage the consistent practice of this spiritual discipline, because we believe it is essential for our spiritual well-being. It is the means through which we actively seek and submit to the will of God.

Biblically Based

Because we believe that the Bible is inspired by God, without error, and completely trustworthy we commit to the Word of God as our rule of faith and practice. We agree therefore, that as we teach and preach, we will declare the whole counsel of God’s Word.

Christ-Centered

Christ Jesus our Lord is the Cornerstone upon which His church is built. Our desire is to advance His kingdom and
do everything for His glory. Having received His grace through the gospel, we are committed to proclaim the
gospel to every nation. We purpose to be more Christ-like and to lead others to do the same.

Family Focused

The first entity God established was the family. Friendship Church strives to minister to every person in the family no matter the age.

Holy Spirit Led

The Holy Spirit is given to every believer. It is He who transforms us, affirms our faith and gives us the desire
and ability to follow Jesus. We commit to live lives that are characterized by the fruit of Spirit. We will follow His leadership and serve according to the gifts He has given us, believing that through Him we are equipped for every
good work.

Motivated By Love

The first and greatest commandment is to, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your
soul, and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37 We believe our love for God should be the motivation for everything we do.

Christ also commanded us to love one another, just as He has loved us. Accordingly, we will be kind and tenderhearted toward one another, forgiving one another just as God through Christ has forgiven us.

We will bear one another’s burdens and demonstrate our love by serving others.

Discipleship Driven

Jesus taught that we are to go into the world and make disciples. We believe this to be vital to the spiritual development of every believer. We encourage and practice intergenerational discipleship in order to build relationships and encourage spiritual development at every age.
